What events, like a documentary photo exhibition, meeting with authors, were the most exciting? What exhibitions or presentations would you like to visit in our library in the future? Please write all your ideas in the big library book. Your opinion is very important to us.

Hi, Max. Andrea's calling. I just have to tell you that I won't be able to join you for your camping trip this weekend. My aunt's family are coming, and mom asked me to show them around the city. I'm going to be a sort of tourist guide for them. I feel a bit disappointed, but on the other hand, our relatives are very nice and hospitable. When we visited them last time, they threw a party for us and did everything to entertain us. Anyway, I want you to have a great trip. Call me later.
Text C
- Hi, Phil. How are you today?
- I'm fine, thanks.
- But you don't look fine. Is there a problem in the family? Is your grandmother well?
- Yes, Miss Reeds. We are all well. It's my cat, Ginger, who's ill. He's neither eating nor playing. And he looks very sad. It's worrying me.
- Yes, I think I understand.
- I've never had any pets before. Ginger is a present from my granny.
- I see. I think you should take your cat to a vet clinic. I can recommend one. I always take my dog there.
- Oh, thank you, Miss Reeds.
- Can an adult from your family help you to get to the clinic?

- Good evening, Mr. Brooks.
- Hi Susan, how was your first day at the language school? Was it easy to find it?
- Yes, I followed your directions, took bus 22 and got off at the stop City Centre. That's it.
- Good.
- The tutor said they used to be on the university campus, but it was too far from the centre. Students staying with host families had problems getting there, so they moved to the school.
- Which was clever of them, though the air is better in the suburbs, of course. In the city, the traffic's too heavy.
- Oh, the windows of our classroom are closed because of the noise from the traffic.

Good afternoon. Today we have asked five people to give us a short interview and share their opinions about jeans. Now we would like to present their opinions to you.
Speaker A
I love wearing jeans so much. I wear them every single day. What I like most about jeans is that you can wear them almost anywhere and with almost anything. Moreover, they are easy to wash and you can put them in the washing machine and don't even need to iron them. You get neither hot nor cold in them. They suit any occasion. In fact, I don't know a better item of clothing. Jeans are just a universal item of clothing.
Speaker B
I think too many people these days wear jeans just everywhere, thinking it's the most practical garment. Still, there are a lot of occasions where jeans are just not good, like going to school or to the cinema. Besides, if everybody wears jeans, it means that everyone looks the same and it's just not interesting. I honestly think it's just so dull if you put on jeans when you can actually think of something more beautiful.
Speaker С
As far as I know, jeans were originally meant for working people and were considered simple clothes because they're easy to wash and very durable. That's why I don't understand why now people think you can wear them anywhere. Jeans are certainly good if you go to the countryside, but they're inappropriate at the theater or at school, anywhere where there is a strict dress code. So you cannot just wear them on any occasion after all.
Speaker D
I have ten pairs of jeans and my parents laugh at me because I can wear them almost anywhere. They think that all jeans look the same but they couldn't be more wrong. Jeans come in any colour nowadays and they come in different styles too. There are skinny and baggy jeans, jeans with embroidery and even beautiful beads, blue, white, grey and black jeans. I can go on and on. The list of jeans styles is really endless.
Speaker, E
I wear jeans sometimes. Not to school, of course, as they're considered bad style for some reason. Still, even if they allowed that, I wouldn't wear jeans to school or too often in general because I've read that jeans can damage our blood circulation and become a reason for some illnesses. It is especially true for tight jeans, which are considered high fashion now. I think it's a sufficient reason to avoid wearing jeans every day. Once a week is enough.

- Excuse me, could you give me a few minutes of your time?
- Pardon?
- We are doing a survey and interviewing people randomly in the streets.
- Oh yeah, we also did that when we were in France on an exchange program. It was part of our course project.
- You know then?
- Of course I do. Go ahead, ask your questions.
- You said you've been to France. Do you speak French as a foreign language?
- Yes, I do. I speak it fluently, but still make some grammar mistakes.
- Right, French is difficult. That's why I chose Spanish when I was at school. Are you still at school or have you finished it?
- It's my last year at school. I'm 18 already.
- 18, right. Anyway, as you are still at school, I'll ask you a question about your school life. What's your favourite subject? I believe you like art and computer design.
- Neither. I love science. I've always loved it. And our science teacher is great.
- Lucky you. Is this subject somehow related to your future career?
- I don't know yet, because I haven't made my career choice yet.
- Don't you know what you would like to do as a career?
- Well, I've always dreamt of being an actress and starring in films, but…
-Yes?
- I don't have a gift for the stage. To put it frankly, I feel terrified when I have to act or even speak in public, which means acting is not for me.
- I do understand your feelings. I feel the same.
- Everyone says I've got a nice voice. That's true. And I love singing, but only do it as a hobby.
- Yeah, your hobby is singing. It's not a common one. Most people of your age say that they like reading or watching films. And what about sports? I wouldn't be surprised if you did karate or yoga.
- No, I do aerobics. Not very exciting, but I don't have time for anything else at the moment.
- To me, aerobics sounds great. It is very good for the body, as far as I know, and it can be great fun if you choose the right instructor.
